A representative from Mapei was out here today. He took a few plates with him so they could get the thinset tested.
I don't have any expectations to have them make up with me for all the money spent. I'm happy if they let me buy their new Kerapoxy design to a very very good price. I have to wait and see what he can arrange for me. I sent him a mail this evening with a few pics that documented the building process and also gave him the link to this thread :-D Do you think he will go through this thread from the beginning???

lol....
I have already bought new white plates for the pool. This time have I choosed a tileplate deisgned only for swimmingpools buy a german company that deliver pooltiles to all over the world. This particualar is called Chroma. I have also bought new mosaic for the floor so I'm only waiting for Mapei to give me an awesome price for the Kerapoxy. This new Kerapoxy is a bit better to work with, not so stiff and open a little bit longer than the old one, but still heavy duty. I have decided to set all the plates in this Kerapoxy not only for the grout. There are some advantages as I see it with that compared to cement based thinset. Most important.... It shall lead to a perfect bond and you get a watertight layer on the concrete, even if the pool itself is water tight. Touch wood
I will remove all the plates from the pool with start tomorrow. Two mates will come by and help me with that. Then is the plan to grind the surface compleatly next weekend and asap after that start with the tileing. If I choose Mapei's products I will let their technicians tell me exactly what I need to do to prepare the surface and also where I shall place my expansion joints. Expansion joints shall be placed as a thumb of rule in every square of 6m. So that means that I shall have one in the middle of the pool but I will let them decide to a 100%.
Just like Solarboy said a few post's ago about how he choose not to use primer on concrete pools outdoors just the same information have I've got from a person with very long experience in the tile industry. So I would rather skip that If I can choose but again I will follow instructions to hundred percent so I will have some sort of warranty on the job.
Hopefully can I arrange for someone to work with me with the tileing. I can't afford to have someone to do it all for me but if I can meassure and mount the first line of tiles, then is it more or less to just put them on top of each other. Another 7500 plates
hahaha, it's all good, tileing is not so bad the worst is the grouting but as I said ealier, using epoxy as a thinset would ease that process a little bit and with the new Kerapoxy I'm hoping for a smooth ride
later friends
