Plaster can be applied up to 2" thick without issue.

As for the repair....I don't like it but what choice do you have now?

I would put your pool builder on notice about your concerns with the repair. I think it will either be a problem in the first year or last 10 years.

Yeah, that what I was thinking as well, thanks for confirming. Pool comes with a lifetime warranty for the shell and I requested to extend this warranty to the repair since it was done on their own accord. I hope they agree and we will finish it soon.
