Hello. Is anyone using the Compass WiFi app to control a Gulfstream pool heater? Mine hasn’t been online for four weeks now. I spoke to my installer and they said that “Gulfstream are having WiFi issues, more specifically their servers are down”.

Welcome to TFP.

Have you called Gulfstream Support?

GulfStream heat pumps are made in North Fort Myers, Florida by G&F Manufacturing. We are a third generation family run company and has been heating pools for over 25 years.

If you have questions or think you may need technical/service assistance, please contact us at the info below or use the web form.

The Wi-Fi on Gulfstream doesn't need to connect to any server, other than your wifi, and your app on the same Wi-Fi.
I wish Pentair could read this. Everything I have going through the Intelliconnect relies on Internet connecting to Pentair servers, so if Internet is down, so is Intelliconnect.

That is a key difference between the IntelliConnect and the IntelliCenter.

Pentair kept the cost of the IntelliConnect down by not including local communication and control.

My son just had a Compass WiFi unit installed on his Gulfstream heater about a week ago. He already had installed the Compass app on his iPhone and it's working fine because he downloaded it and installed the app when the heater was installed about 4-5 months ago. Now, however, his wife cannot download the app from the Apple App Store.....IT'S GONE! I called Gulfstream (they're literally less than 10 miles from my house) and was informed that "ICM's servers are down and have been down for a few weeks". The Gulfstream rep said that she had hundreds of customers that were furious as a result of not being able to get the Compass WiFi app to control their heater. Not sure what the resolution is beyond waiting until they fix the server.

That's odd. So it works if installed before the server went down??? I guess, that's a plus, as if the server goes down, at least the app will work. Unfortunately if you haven't downloaded it while server is down, sounds like you're sol.

An app is pulled from the App Store when the service is shutdown.

There is no reason to pulling an app from the store when the server is down unless there is no intention of restoring service.

I suspect Gulfstream outsourced the cloud service and they are not being b transparent about what the situation is with the company running it.

Sounds like a typical apple issue. App is downloadable on Android.

Bringing this back from the dead. There are ZERO instructions on how to install the compass to the HP. I am assuming the plug from compass goes to the 4 pins on the top left of the mainboard. I just don't want to guess, and plug it in, and poof goes the compass, or worse, the mainboard. The end on the compass plug doesn't look keyed either, so which way does it go??? Hoping someone here could take a quick pic and post please.
