Comparator Light

I usually run tests indoors and like many of you, I'm the worst at reading pH. I'll see 7.7 through 8.0 as the same. Occasionally, I'll use my K-1001 test kit for pH as the comparator range is 7.5, 7.8, 8.2 and I can more easily tell if the pH is above or below 7.8

Is there a light that is recommended for comparator, other than Taylor Comparator Light ? Would a 5000k LED be similar ? A specific solid color on monitor ?

Any other suggestions ?

How about putting a piece of white paper behind the block and stand near a window for light?
Then hold it up to a light to see if you agree with how you first saw it?

I think I'd spend $100 on a good electronic ph meter before i spent $200 on a light.
