Coming off a SLAM and now hazy water ...

So, came off a week and half slam and everything was looking great. Passed SLAM test 3 mornings in a row. Turned the SWG back on and up to 40. Left on a 5 day trip, got home and was like - NO!! My crystal water was turning back to a haze. We did get a bit of rain in my absence. Tested and of course, CYA was down to 60, and TC was .5. FC has been repeatedly 0.0. Added 4 lbs of stabilizer and a gallon of bleach per poolmath yesterday. SWG up to 95, ran all night with the stabilizer addition. Rechecked this morning in deed end, elbow deep -

FC 2.0
CC 0.0
pH 7.2 (figure the extra liquid chlorine will cause it eventually go up)
CYA 70
CH 400
TA 70

Put the dummy cell in and ran the real cell in bucket of pool water and lots of bubbles - so it's making chlorine. Put it back together, took a sample straight from return and FC was 4.5 from the return. Just added anther gallon of bleach (20%). Cheating as well with a floater and 3 tablets of dichlor (figure the extra CYA at this point wouldn't hurt).

Other suggestions/thoughts? TC before I left was just at 8.0. Leaving again for a 4 day trip at the end of the week.

18K, plaster, nano auto pilot - sunny and hot Florida. Water temp 84.

Repeat slams are often algae that was missed hiding in plain sight. The light niche, ladder rails, autofills, etc.

It may not affect the pool volume enough to fail the OCLT at first, giving you a false positive. Then it immediately starts reintroducing algae as soon as you let your guard down.

FC 2.0
CYA 70
You did not have your cell running long enough or high enough percent, and allowed your FC to get below minimum. FC of 2 with CYA of 70 is asking for algae.

You may in fact have passed slam and got all the algae, but you allowed new algae to form.

You need to always follow this, and ensure it stays at the high end of the range for your FC. Link-->FC/CYA Levels

Yes passes OCLT 3 days running. Bad timing on having to go out of town. Took almost a week to get FC levels to teens and figured I was good to go a few days away with the SWG back on. Will have to stop at ACE on way home and pick another 4 gallons to be safe I suppose.

For those with solar heaters, other than running them 24/7 any tips for when they are off as possible breeding ground? That said haze came in after I turned them off. Odd.
