I have a 20x40 pool with an old Purex model 10510 light installed. I am wanting to upgrade to a color light and looking for recommendations. Would the Hayward color logic led pool light or the Pentair intellibrite color light fit in the existing niche? I measure the inside diameter today and it is about 5" wide and about 5 " deep. I really want something more powerful than a spa light, but don't want to drain the pool to install a larger niche

I think you will find only a spa light will fix that size niche.
I suggest you talk to Florida Sunseekers and see what the brightest light they have that fits your niche...

Pool light replacement
I have two PUREX 10510 lights (1 in the pool and 1 in the spa). Neither worked due to water ingress. Although this is an old obsolete light your website allowed me to order a new gasket. However 1 light is not repairable. I am happy to replace it myself but I would appreciate if you could help...
