Well, I have given up turning down the SWCG percentage and dropped it to zero so that my chlorine will drop into the desired range. Cold weather, shorter days, and no one using the pool is lowering my chlorine demand to almost nada. It's been sitting above 10 all week as I've dropped the percentage over and over again. I'll test tomorrow to see what 24 hours of no chlorine generation does. Expect my usual cries of "SWCG not keeping up!" come March and April, as I try to dial it in the opposite direction. :)

It IS that time of year! During the burrrr times I add chlorine about every 3 or 4 days and then only a bit!

Now the thing to really keep an eye on is the water temps as Spring comes knocking. That is the only times I got algae. Get lazy during the burrr then don't catch the water temps creeping up and BOOM water is a bit cloudy so have to do a fast SLAM and it is all good again!

I'm able to dose just once a week this time of year. You'll find your rhythm. Keep track of what you're doing. Each year gets a little easier as you learn your pool.
