Calcium chloride typically does not result in pool water clearing, I'd hazard a guess that you actually added calcium hypochlorite rather than calcium chloride previously.

Pool store testing is notoriously inaccurate, especially the CYA level.

Thanx ya we were puzzled too at the time but it was calcium Chloride as it indicated on the bag and yesterday it was calcium chloride too , we had some rain again so i am holding off on chemicals i will post more info
