Friends,

I started opening my pool a week ago and the water is very cloudy. I can’t see the bottom of the pool on the shallow end.

After a few days, i decided I should change out the sand in the filter, it hadn’t been replaced in years. After doing so, I had to backwash every two hours because the PSI kept rising. This last for about a day.

Now, the PSI stays steady at 10. It’s been a full day and the cloudiness isn’t improving.

Both my skimmer and drain have suction. My CYA is low, and I’m in the process of slamming the pool. Again.

Please wise ones. What should I do? Pool flocc?

------------------------------------------
Vacuumed, Cleaned Filter, Backwashed, Brushed

Test Results 06-14-2022 @ 07:18 AM
------------------------------------------
Free Chlorine: 10.0
Combined Chlorine: 0.5
Total Alkalinity: 90
Calcium Hardness: 250
CYA: 20

Please avoid floc at all costs. It does not solve the problem which is algae. Cloudy water generally = algae and to cure that, you need to follow the SLAM process and linked above.
Also, how are you testing? Can you fill out signature for us?
