Opening my pool - was light green. After brushing and vacuuming a couple times as well as a round of algaecide and shock; it almost clear but a bit cloudy. I read that before we shock again that we have to make sure Ph stays normal, but is it the same with Alkalinity?

Algaecide does nothing for existing algae -- you need to SLAM Process.
What test kit do you have? Can you post a full set of test results?

If you have a green pool, then you can ignore the TA. TA level doesn’t help you clear a pool. You only need a good test kit, chlorine and to perform the SLAM Process process. In this process you should test and add liquid chlorine multiple times a day.
