Your FC was 10 at 10p last night and still was 10 at 4p this afternoon? Do you have an SWG or some pucks somewhere?
That's excellent news! With a combination of brushing the entire pool and adding cellulose fiber and having a skimmer sock inserted, I woke up this morning to discover the return jet hardly pushing out anything. The skimmer sock was so full of debris, as soon as I picked up the basket the return jet started flowing. I replaced it with a new sock and dropped it back in. Does this mean progress? Or did something go wrong. The debris was very tiny particles that the sock was catching
A slightly dirty sand filter works better than a freshly cleaned one. You should note the clean pressure after the next backwash and then wait for it to go up 25% before backwashing again.Thank you good to hear. While reading pool school and slam instructions I don't think I ran across any specifics on cleaning sand filter. I know to backwash and rinse but that's all I know. Is backwashing to often not good? I've been doing it every day since starting slam. Backwash for 3 mins and rince for 1.
Algaecide might be useful at closing. clarifier will just make a mess of the filter.I know the slam process says nothing about aglecides or clarafiers but I have both already stocked, can I make use of it?
That could be cellulose that blew past channelled sand. Or a newspaper blew in over the winter...I will fill out a signature. I guess it's gritty it's like crumbled up wet paper towel. It's a sand filter might I add I put cellulose fiber in the skimmer before I started this vacuum idea.
The water isn't clear -- you still have visible algae. You shock be at shock level still. Since your FC is low right now, go ahead and lower pH to 7.2 and then resume the SLAM. Don;t worry about the TA level. The pool has cleared up a lot still dead algae settling every day. My TA is 170 ph 7.8 after this slam process. Is this too high? Does it need to come down to 90 it being a concrete pool with paint? The current FC is 2.5 if I want to add chlorine this makes it impossible to lower TA?
