You need to keep at the SLAM, until all signs of algae are gone, dead or alive, as well as pass the Overnight Chlorine Loss Test, and have a CC of <0.5ppm.
At this point, I would do a deep clean on the sandfilter, as it seems to be possible that the sand has become hard-packed and channeling has occurred.
