Hello new dude. Hope this finds you and your pool well. I have had tfp clear for quite some time now after that slam I went through. Thank you again for all your help. It's getting close to closing time. I have used in the past closing kits before I put the cover on. Looking at was in the closing kits I think this may have been my problem with the cya. Tfp closing data suggest just to bring chlorine up to slam level and close. It mentions about polyquot. I've never used polyquot. And of course now I don't use any algaecide. Don't need it when you're chlorine level is where it needs to be all the time. Any suggestions for my 26,000 gallon above ground vinyl liner pull for closing?

Finish the season with everything in range as you're already doing. Then there's a choice:

1) close at half slam with PQ
2) close at full slam.

Staying open until the water is cool is the most important step. (Then the same goes for opening before it's warm).

For people that close early, PQ theoretically lasts longer than the chlorine at that time, but if you stay open as you should, there's less time to bridge before the algae goes dormant.
