Is there a preferred method to chlorinate pools? Is clorox better than say Kemtek chlorinating liquid? Kemtek says it is 10% sodium hylochlorite and 90% other ingredients.
Hi mbusd. I usually add bleach in front of the jet so it disperses quickly, but I know some people do other methods. If you pump is running, it will eventually mix up fine. Don't add to the skimmer though, you don't want super concentrated chemicals flowing through your equipment.
We recommend liquid chemicals be added in front of a return jet. I generally add one chem at a time, and then brush the area around the jet a minute or two to make sure nothing came to rest on the bottom. If you're adding two things that don't go well together, like acid and chlorine, I've seen it recommended you wait about 10 minutes between each chem.
Don't laugh at me, but I am completely clueless. Is a return jet where I can feel the water come out when the pump is running? Or are the return jets the ones at the bottom of the pool?

Ah, it makes complete sense when you put it that way. I though it meant the water was going back...to I don't know where, haha. Thanks again for all your help!
