Thanks TFP, just popped through a bronze which equals silver from down here after conversion.
As mentioned elsewhere I wish I cracked onto this site before I did anything. In the end it all worked out but have learnt a lot and had many a laugh along the way with you. Awesome to see what people get up to with their pools also. Nice site to navigate also.
Thank you for your kind words and your support!

I really appreciate all the great info and help here. My wife and daughter had tried to get me to buy a pool but I had no interest and new it would be my responsibility. But I came home one day and saw a big box under the shelter. Yea I had a pool. I should have gone and bought a motorcycle and parked beside it. I bought a salt system from Hayward and I struggled last year keeping it right and this year I was out of work a while as I had surgery and I spent several days on this website finding my mistakes. All I have to do now is just monitor the clorine each day as as the weather warms just keep tweaking my output percentage. May has been cool in NC and I have it turned down quiet a bit because of the cool cloudy weather but all my levels are great! I even added borates from dieseldude. Thanks for all the great info and the pool math app. That app makes things really simple.

LOL they know how to get what they want in the end. I hope you are able to enjoy the pool now that you have mastered the basics.

Thank you for your support! I am glad to hear the app is helping you as well!

I am trying to become a supporter, but when I go to this link (Become a TFP Supporter) while logged in, it instead redirects to Home. Is there another way to become a supporter?

Support TFP with a donation.

This post sounds aggressive or arrogant. It wasn't intended that way, I'm just not a great communicator some times.

I'm wondering what are the benefits of supporting for someone who's not in the US?

All three of the support levels offer discounts on products we can't buy, or credit at a web site where the shipping exceeds what it would cost for us to buy locally.
While TFP is a registered charity in the US, it's not in Aus so our donation isn't tax deductible.

I'm looking at the base Bronze supporter $60 subscription and trying to figure out what I'd get for my money. As far as I can see, a warm fuzzy and "Access to the V.I.P. Members Only Forums". I know I sound cheap, but $60 a year is almost what I spend on chemicals.

Is there something I've missed? I subscribe to a couple of other forums, but they're between $10-15 per year (and that's AUD) for members privileges.

I understand your thinking. I have an idea that I will float by the IT and owners of the site.

While I do chat with them I will let you know that we are all volunteers that post/reply to the boards. The only thing that costs anything is the servers and IT guy. That server is a hungry thing for sure! That is why we need to ask for donations. We are ad free as well so the only money coming in comes from the supporters.

The main perks of supporting TFP aren’t necessarily tangible but are based on helping the community thrive. TFP could easily shift toward promoting various chemicals and products for significant profit, as companies frequently approach us with offers to advertise. However, thanks to member donations, we can maintain our stance as a resource dedicated solely to helping pool owners without outside influence.

Additionally, donations directly support the site’s growth. Over the years, as membership has expanded, so have operational costs. Member contributions have been vital in meeting these expenses and funding ongoing improvements to benefit users. For example, we’re currently negotiating upgrades to enhance the site experience, made possible entirely by member support.

In short, supporting TFP as an international member is less about tangible rewards like discounts or perks and more about contributing to a community-focused resource that continues to grow and help pool owners worldwide. If you have any ideas on how we can improve our offerings for overseas users, please don’t hesitate to reach out directly to me. We’re always open to feedback and suggestions to better serve our global community.

Yep, and I can see that. What triggered this originally is the begging posts that keep getting appended to threads. I'm assuming they get put onto threads where the OP or contributors don't have their Bronze/Silver/Gold badges on. I then wondered what it would take to get some form of recognition for donating to stop that, but $60 AUD is a pretty steep minimum. On that basis I thought I'd raise what I saw as an affordability issue for non US participants.
