Cleaning the surface of pool water

Hey Guys, I am new to the pool 'club'. I am having the surface of my pool water always dirty with small leaves and white pollen. I have been cleaning it with a net fitted on a pole.
Just wondering if there is a better way to do this? Like a surface vacuum or something?
SIDE NOTE: I have a hayward robot vacuum that cleans the bottom of my pool so I am only asking on how to clean the surface

Can you add your signature so we can see what kind of pool and equipment you have?

I have found on mine to turn the main drain off and pull 100% using the skimmers. I also use hair nets on my skimmer baskets to help keep the filter clean.
I also have a lot of tree's so run my pump on very low speed 24 hours a day

+1 to turning off your main drain and pulling water 100% from your skimmers, if your pool is set up that way. I would get skimmer socks no matter what, if you don’t already use them, because they pick up finer debris.

If nothing else works, there is a solar powered surface skimming robot. I can’t recall the name but I’ve read that it works pretty well.
