Opened up the pool over the weekend and the outside of the liner is quite grimy, particularly the top white part of the liner. Any suggestions on whitening up the white without adversely affecting the water? I was thinking that I could use a mild solution of Simple Green or a similar APC on the sides but I don't want to get it in the water if I can help it.

I would not use any kind of cleaning product that was not something that would normally be added to a pool. Perhaps a dilluted bleach solution. OR (and this is a big OR as you do not want to mix these). A dilluted muriatic acid solution.

Is this an Intex style pool? If so you can use a magic eraser to clean it.
I use the Magic eraser. Cleans it up beautifully. You will need several of the heavy duty kind .
Magic eraser, i use it when i have something to clean. just dont scrub hard with eraser.
