Circupool UL-40 Low salt warning

So I have this model that I started using in August of last year. Long story, but I have high salt in the pool at about 5800 PPM that I am slowly bringing down through backwashing and some water replacement, but the unit could be set to work fine based on a trick from the support folks at circupool to set it to a different cell type so that it would not trip high salt warnings. This has been working great, except that recently, the unit is now showing low levels of salt and kicking the Slo (salt low) error even though the salt is around 5800 PPM. When I look at the cell, there is very little build up inside. If I do clean it (at least the last time I did this a few days ago), the system will initially read at about 4500 PPM, but then with in 24 hours it down to 3500 and the day after that, back to Slo warning and showing 2300.

The support folks at Circupool think it is more likely my Si index is off, but I have verified my numbers with my Taylor test kit and I am within the appropriate ranges I believe. I am also not seeing any scaling on the pool tiles, etc. They said I could send it in on an RMA for testing, but my concern is that what if the salt cell is fine, the the actual unit it plugs into is acting up? How will they know? I cannot seem to get an answer from them on that and it feels like they are just trying to avoid providing any replacements as needed while it is still under 100% warranty. Anyone else had similar symptoms issues with their SWG?

Thanks!
Chris

Sounds like you need to take the "trick" off and change it back to a normal cell... Not sure why your salt level is so high, even the SJ model wants it below 5000 ppm..
