So I want to replace my 17 year old SWG with the circupool RJ60+ Last time I looked at this, I was able to add the RJ45 to my cart at DSP and upgrade to the 60 for $10. I can't seem to find that option anymore. Am I missing something or has that promotion been discontinued? Has anyone recently done the $10 upgrade?

Thanks

The promotion is not active but they are showing discounted pricing. Not sure if they'll bring it back. FWIW, the price for the RJ-45 Plus is $60 more than I paid in 2021 ($1,449 vs $1,389). The price increase doesn't seem unreasonable. You might give them a call and see what they say.

Thanks!....yeah......I still think the RJ-60+ is a great deal at $1599.

I was just looking at the DSP site and noticed that the Core-55 is on promotion for $500 off. Is there any reason I wouldn't want to go with the Core versus the RJ? The Core seems a lot easier to install and offer an 8 year warranty versus the RJ+ 7 year warranty. With the promotion, the Core would be $100 less than the RJ60

Look at the claimed chlorine production. The RJ60 is at 2.7 lb per day while the Core 55 is 2.0 lb per day. That should make your decision a little easier. Not sure what's going on with the RJs, but the RJ60 used to be rated at 3.1 lb per day. The CircuPool site still shows that higher rating while the Discount Salt Pool site shows the lower rating.

I will say that I'm very happy with my RJ. With the exception of a failed flow switch, the unit has been super strong and dependable. When I did have problems with the flow switch, CircuPool was very responsive and helpful.

ok, yeah, fair point.... My current SWG is 1.37 lb/day and it's been fine for 17 years. So I thought the 2.0 lb/day would be more than enough. I suppose I was enticed by the ease of installation of the Core unit. Only 2 cuts and done as it has a built in flow sensor. I suppose there are pros/cons of that as I had to replace my flow sensor in my old unit twice in 17 years. Not sure if it is replaceable in the Core.

If you've considered automation, there is new Core Series that was recently released that offers, "advanced automation designed for seamless integration with your existing pool setup. This WiFi-enabled chlorine generator ensures your pool stays clean, balanced, and easy to manage—all from your smartphone."

We've had a few members install them recently. What's frustrating is there's no way to set SWG scheduling via the app. I'm guessing in the future there will be more features and integration with other devices. Here's a link if you're interested.

The new core 55 is $3000 before the $500.'sale'. Its $900 more than the RJ60+ for less lifespan, but wifi.

I suspect they will only get true enthusiasts or affluent customers.

The promotion comes and goes seasonally. Now is high demand so they do regular pricing.
It will come back, all depends on when.

The new core 55 is $3000
There are two products.
Core 55 standalone (just the generator): $1995 discountsaltpool.com

And Core Control 55 which has minimal automation/app: $2500 circupool.com

I would not pay the extra for automation, but the CORE55 (no automation) is on sale for $500 off at DSP. So It would be $100 less than the RJ-60+ Also, seems like a bit easier to install. as the pad, flow control and cell are all in one unit. But I would be giving up the 2.7 lb/day of the 60+ versus 2.0 lb/day of the Core55. Any other pros/cons between those 2 units?

The RJ has adjustments down to 5%, which is nice for dailing it in. On the other hand, the core forces you to run hot as your choices are often either too much or too little production. Anyone who doesnt want things to go swampy picks too much.

The one time more difficult install wouldn't sway me. Future cell swaps for either are a 5 min job.
