Thanks Pool Stored,Do not run your cell at 100% 24/7. It is the quickest way to kill a cell.
No worries there! That is my whole point of this post. My average FC usage is approx. 2.5PPM/day. I bought a unit that should be able to produce that in 8 hours @ 50%. I am running it twice that amount and needing to supplement LC every 3 days or so.... There is no way I am running my single speed pump 24/7 just so the SWG can keep up!
I Have seen a few story's here of folks that had the same issue and I know of at least one that found the cell was faulty and was replaced. I am just want to make sure i have checked all the boxes with you all before sticking to my guns with the supplier...
All y'all's input is appreciated!
777.1. Your CH levels are WAY too high. I've read that high levels interfere with SWG effectiveness. Get those levels down to normal.
2. Run your filter 24/7 with SWG at 100%.
3. Make sure you are properly cleaning those cartridges by soaking in proper cleaning solution and not just hosing down. You might have residual algae stuck in nooks and crannies. You can run your pump/SWG on recirculate while you do this.
I have not read anything that shows high CH will cause the SWG cell to not produce. The tech support person I have been dealing with knows all my test results since the install dates (CH has been high way before that) and have not mentioned a word about it. If you can share the source, I would like to read it so I can determine if a water purge and refill is needed.
I refuse to run the pump or cell 24/7. That would be a waste of the cell and electricity. Cell should be producing 3.9PPM in a 6 hour time frame. I am only getting between 1.5 & 2.2PPM in that time.
Cartridges are clean. No algae anywhere....
Thanks, Herb
