Hi everyone, after a meager four years with the pool builder’s undersized Jandy Truclear SWG, I decided to install the Circupool EDGE 40 system, which should allow me to run at a much lower percentage of the cell’s capacity. I installed it yesterday and am happy with almost everything. I do need to order the 8’ cell extension cable so I can route that cable a little better. Other than that, I do have a question and it was not noted anywhere in the installation instructions. My old SWG controller had a solid copper ground wire going to it, just like all of my other pool components (heater, pump, etc). There is a small screw on the lower left corner, on the bottom of the Circupool controller, which I believe is for grounding. Can anyone confirm? Picture below.

The solid copper wire connecting your pool equipment is a bonding wire. Bonding and grounding are different and have different purposes.

Your old SWG probably had a metal case with a bonding lug. Your Circupool has a plastic case and no bonding lug.

The Circupool Edge Installation Manual makes no mention of bonding or a bonding lug.

Don’t connect it.

Thanks AJ, just didn’t want any to leave anything to chance. I may have gotten this unit on sale but I don’t want to do anything to promote it’s early demise!
