Choosing a Heat Pump

Wow, I'm really surprised to hear that. I had a great experience with him, although I did not ask him to beat the price by $200; I just asked him to match it.

I do realize they have that policy of beating any advertised price by $200, and also a free liquid solar blanket product ... but I didn't ask for those things since the price on the SQ150VS was so good, and he was able to get it to me so quickly.

Glad you were able to get a good price through the salt pool guys though! (y)
I have also been in touch with Dennis and he is willing to match with saltpoolguys.com only if I am fine with waiting 4-6 weeks for him to get a unit from the supplier. For units currently in stock with him he has a markup of ( around $500) which makes sense as these units are in high demand nation-wide. I have not found any other dealer who currently has the SQ150VS in stock and I have reached out to at least 10 other Aquacal dealers locally in MA and from out-of-state.

In fact saltpoolguys.com had the exact business model when I enquired about the SQ225s. They had a 500$ markup for units they have in their inventory.

Tried to get the SQ150VS from Dennis, and it was a nightmare. He didn't honor his company's policy to beat any advertised heat pump price by $200. Wouldn't even price match Saltpoolguys.com. Then proceeded to attempt to upsell me on a different model. There were way too many red flags. I'm amazed (and happy for you) that you had a good experience with him.

Ended up ordering from Saltpoolguys.com, even though it will take several weeks to ship.

Thanks for the info, I just emailed saltpoolguys for a quote.

How easy is it to get someone local to do the install? If you cut and install the water pipes, then we'd just need an electrician?

Ended up having a great experience with Saltpoolguys. Excellent pricing and my heat pump was delivered 10 days later straight from the factory.

How easy is it to get someone local to do the install?
Should be very easy. I had a local pool company install my heat pump in about 30 minutes.
