Hello and thank you for all your help. I started to get a rash after doing some googling sounds like it something called “chlorine rash”. So I came here to confirm, but after a search of old forms looks like the general belief here is that only cc can give u a rash not the actual chlorine. So I’m looking for some insight.
FC 12
Cc 0. (Last I checked 3 days ago)
Cya 50
Ph. 7.2
Alk. 90
12,000 gal AGP
There is no smell coming from the pool, and the water looks healthy. I am in the middle of adding borates to the pool some doing that slow. Also am using some pucs and shock to start the season off, don’t know if that’s what’s giving it to me. Any insight would be helpful

A FC of 12 is well within safe levels for CYA 50.

CYA 50 is the max you want. Using tablets is going to add more CYA then you really want.

Your pH is at minimum. And with puck usage, it is being pushed down more.

Discontinue the puck use and let pH rise some. Most skin/eye irritation is from pH and CC.

Do remember that tap water has chlorine in it. Do you get a rash from tap water?
