So about a month ago I turned off my salt cell. My pool in fall gets almost no direct sun light and despite dialing back the run time and percentage on the cell, my FC kept rising. Slowly it has come down. I might have let it come down too much. Was working 60+ hours the last 2 weeks and got lazy and didn’t test my levels for 11 days.

I am going to turn the salt cell on tomorrow and just guess on a run time and percentage and see what the level is tomorrow night. Or would you recommend I just add liquid chlorine? I can’t figure out how to know precisely with pool math how much my SWCG will make at certain settings.

I think my pool math is in my signature. If not , here are my current readings. IMG_9661.png

Add liquid chlorine.
Your SWCG likely would not generate at that low of water temperature.

Use Effect of Adding for how much FC your SWCG will generate based on %, run time, pool volume.

So this past spring when my pool was built before I could turn on the salt cell I had purchased 2 jugs of liquid chlorine. I have one unopened jug . Would that jug still be good or best to buy new? It seems to raise my chlorine level, but I read using old liquid chlorine isn’t advised.
