Hi everyone,
I installed a 21’ round above ground pool in June and filled it with about 12 inches of water and threw in a tricolor dispenser. It then took a week before adding gravel, finishing the electrical and filling the pool.
Now I have the pool chemistry generally balanced.
PH - 7.5
CYA - 60
TA - 120
FC - 4-8
CC - 0
The issue is that the pool is in full sun and I am having to add about 50oz of 10% bleach per day.
I tested the FC before bed and it was 7.5 then 7 in the morning. At the end of the day I am at 4 or 4.5. The CC has always been 0.
My question - is a 50% extinction rate expected for a pool in the sun all day with a CYA of 60?
I tend to think I don’t need to SLAM the pool of my CC is 0 and I am only losing 0.5 over night.
Thoughts?
