Chlorine Comparison

So I've been comparing chlorine and wonder if someone had already done the analysis.

In the Swim Super Shock Calcium Hypo 1# 70% available chlorine $6 #
Members Mark Sodium Di Chlor 1# 55.5% available chlorine $5.42 #
Pool Essentials Sodium Hypo 10% 1 gal $5.47

I prefer not to run calcium hypo in my SWG pool, but it seems to be highest chlorine % per $ and does not degrade.
I prefer sodium hypo, but liquid degrades. Sometimes Di Chlor is OK if CYA is low, but still 55.5%.
So, there are really cons to all of these. Which is the lesser of evils?
Is there a conversion for liquid to compare to granules? How does 1 gal of liquid compare to 1 # of granules? Is 1# of super shock granules in a gallon of water equal to 70% vs 10% liquid sodium hypo?
Using for shock and supplemental additions.

Tul,

Are you adding 'Shock' or Liquid Chlorine to your saltwater pool on a regular basis???

Like once a week or every two weeks? If so, it is just not needed. I have not added a single bag of Pool Store shock to any of my three saltwater pools for at least 10 years.

If you follow the TFP pool care process, routine shocking is just never required.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I will always do a SLAM when opening the pool and after pool parties. My pool is open year round (not covered) and I pull the SWG cell in the fall and usually wait till May to put it back. So between May and September a few SLAMS. The rest of the year I will be adding ~10 gals of Chlorine.
I just bought some liquid chlorine from WM and it was dated 2022 354 which is on the old side for my taste especially if I plan to hold on to it for any length of time.
Thanks for the response.
