Does your house have copper pipes? (Many modern homes use PEX with brass hardware and fittings). Older homes likely have lots of copper pipes.
Here’s the thing about pools, green hair and copper - it’s the chlorine in the pool oxidizing copper that’s trapped in the hair strands that turns hair green. The copper may not be coming from your pool but from another source of water that your daughter is using. Blonde hair tends to be more porous than darker hair and it can absorb more water and metal ions. Then, when the hair is hit with chlorine, the copper precipitates out of the hair as a hydroxide/oxide that looks green.
There are specialized shampoos that use higher concentrations of EDTA to remove copper from hair. Swimmers will often use those products. It’s also suggested that your daughter coat her hair with a swimming conditioner (light oil treatment) or, one can use a teaspoon or so of refined coconut oil in their hair to reduce water absorption (and it makes the hair shinier and healthier). A swimmers cap is another good option.
