Chlorinator Cell Pipe Leaking Air

My wife was cleaning the chlorinator cell today, and when trying to place it bakc on, we have gotten confused by how to screw the cap back on.

We have tried a few times, and it is leaking water (and air is getting in), through the cell pipe here.

Does anyone know the order with which we are supposed to screw it back on, and where does the blue o-ring go in relation to the system?

Thanks for any help.

Geday DrDMc and welcome to the forums,

I’m afraid I have not seen one like that before, it looks old. Any brand names or marking on it or the control box?

It looks to me like the blue Oring is not meant or be between the locking nut ant thread. It doesn’t have any compression makings that match the locking nut. The black Oring looks like it has been compressed and matches the lock nut profile.

I would got some silicon grease for the black Oring. Gently push the blue one out of the way and and screw the lock nut
/ring down on the black Oring. Turn it on and check for leaks.
