There is no good/better/best. You are either ‘in range’ or not. If your PH is 7.X you are fine. At 7.2 and 7.8 be prepared to monitor it a bit more closely to verify it stays there.

Heater or not, you want to keep the pH in the 7's. If it drops to 7.0 you can point the eye up and aerate the pool to raise the pH. You could do that now if you wanted to.

Aeration from people in the pool will make the pH rise. What was the TA? pH in the 7’s is fine.

I did not retest the TA. It was 50 on Monday. Should I retest that?

Test TA next time you test your water. If you feel pH needs to be raised, add 20 ppm TA worth of baking soda.
