Chemicals Needed for Start Up

Hey Everyone,

I have been so busy taking care of other projects on the house we just bought--I neglected to purchase chemicals for startup. I have a 28k gallon pebbletec w/ Pentair DE filter and Intellichlor w/ Pentair variable speed pump. What chemicals do I need for startup (at a minimum). I had 28k gallons of water delivered today.

Thanks!

You need chlorine and stabilizer (CYA) ... that is all we know without test results ... what are you going to be testing with?

Well, you know that CYA is 0 and likely FC and CC are 0 as well.

So you can get the CYA dissolving in a sock to target 30ppm or so to start. And add 2ppm of FC with bleach as soon as you can ... and then try to keep the FC level there until the CYA starts to dissolve.

Without a test of pH, TA, and CH ... we do not know if you need to adjust any of them.
