We had our pool refinished over the winter and they added a swim ledge. Everything is been great, except for the swim ledge has cracking in it and some shadowing. The company that did the job has said that even the owner has this “check“ cracking in his personal pool and sometimes it just happens and unless they open up, it’s not a problem. What are y’all‘s thoughts? I don’t wanna pay a Crud load of money for a swim ledge that has cracks if its superficial or not. I’ve searched some on forums and couldn’t find much.

Welcome to TFP.

Shrinkage and spider cracking can be normal. The outcome can depend upon the weather conditions on the plastering day. Winter is not the best time to plaster.

You can probably get rid of the crazing with some polishing of the plaster. Read Plaster Installation and Maintenance - Further Reading
