Hi I was curious if high Chlorine can throw the CH test off like it does with Ph? Reason being my SWG was accidentally running 24/7 and my chlorine levels are extremely high like FC is 15.

I tested my CH and it is reading 150 when it typically is always 300-350.

If it doesn't affect it is calcium chloride the best method for me to increase the CH in the pool?

FC levels do not impact the CH test unless very high. And 15 ppm FC is not high unless you have 0 CYA in the water.

To raise CH level you add calcium chloride. Available at pool stores and online.

Are you using a stirrer or swirling ?

It has been a while, probably a month. I use the auto stirrer from the test kit. Pool is very clear just somehow bypassed my SWG schedule and ran 24/7 for a couple days. In FL so we have had a lot of rain this summer.

My CYA is 30 or less should I add stabilizer before doing anything with the CH??

Make sure you understand how FC/CYA relationship works... FC/CYA Levels

FC being low is a problem, FC being above min, and below SLAM level is EXACTLY where you want to be.
