Cartridge Filter Bands

Hi,

I'm planning on doing the same: glue back disintegrating bands on the filter cartridge. I have two questions:

• Can I use simple hot glue if my pool also has a spa? The water gets pretty hot, up to ~104 F in the spa. Will hot glue hold up at those temperatures? My worst case scenario is that it softens, breaks loose, and clogs the spa jets.
• Some bands are missing or just too disintegrated. I initially thought of using long zip ties to replace the missing bands, but I realize that if those break loose and travel in the pipes, or get stuck in the furnace, I'm in for sone big pain. Do you have a recommendation?

Did you realize that the bands are on the unfiltered side of the cartridge? In order to escape to the filtered side they would need to go through the filter materia.
