Hello all,

My parents bought a house a few years back and pool light was working. It has stopped working (water leaked into the housing)and we can’t locate the switch or junction box or breaker. I am wondering if anyone has suggestions on tracing the wire from the pool light to wherever it’s going. I want to replace it for them but have searched all around with no luck finding anything. The pool light looks really old and is halogen. Also the pool has some black algae and want to know if any suggestions to clean the niche for the pool light as the light is removed and sitting on the deck for a while now.

Well, there has to be a switch and a breaker somewhere. Gonna be hard to find since the light doesn't work so you can't test.

Junction boxes can be in mysterious places. One of mine is under the pool deck as you can see at the bottom of the photo below. I spent weeks looking for it because it had been covered by furniture for over a decade and I'd forgotten it was there. Another possibility is that the j-box is under the diving board stand if they have one.

Post pictures of the pool and the surrounding area and maybe we can pint out the most likely places to look.

Look for a junction box like this by the equipment pad or hidden in shrubbery around the pool...
