Version 7.6 was broken.

Even though the reports on 7.6 were that LOCAL mode connection did not work and REMOTE connection did work which is different then what @DrivenPT is describing.

Just updated and I at least get past the error screen now and am asked to enter a password. So if I can figure out how to set up a password perhaps this will resolve. Will let you know.
