Can liquid chlorine damage fiberglass pool?

Great. I always assumed a bit of iron as the high pH of the product would oxidize any iron in the water used for the process in creating the sodium hypochlorite.

I imagine if you're talking about "bleach" that all the strange additives they put in that stuff now (thickeners, fragrance, yada yada) might color it a tinge yellow?

Liquid chlorine is a stronger liquid and as written in all the above posts... might also tinge yellow.

Just wanted to make sure we understand NOT to use household bleach unless its without any additives...but it will cost more too for the same FC.

When I asked him he just said: bleach is Crud, will make it yellow you can't use that.

No science behind it unfortunately.
I've been using bleach to chlorinate my fiberglass pool for several years now since my SWG died. My fiberglass pool is still white and hasn't turned yellow. I'd be tempted to fire that pool guy if he told me that bleach would turn a pool yellow because he doesn't know what he's talking about. Just make sure you slowly pour in the chlorine in front of a jet in the deep end. There is no need to brush afterwards if you add it that way.
