Can I replace a Hayward GLX-PL-LOC-P-4 with the cheaper GLX-LOCAL-P-4

The cost of a new PL display board is over $500 and the cheaper one is $225. I lost my job recently and this is put me in a tough bind.
The display just displays "Communication Error". I tried to see if it was the board or transformer but both seem to be working. After I tried
to diagnose the board, I attempted to get everything back together and the display worked for about 10 minutes and than displayed the
same error message.

I have the pumps hard wired for now - but the chlorinator is probably not running without the board. This problem could snowball so I need to
stay on top of it.

I dont have any heaters or solenoids. Just a simple salt water pool.
Pump, flow switch, thermostat, salt levels - everything within spec

Any help would be appreciated.

This is the board I have
This is display board Id like to swap into it

Check these before replacing anything.

GLX-LOCAL-P-4 is the display for the AquaLogic.

GLX-PL-LOC-P-4 is the display for the ProLogic.

It might work, but I don’t know for sure.

The size is different, so it won’t fit the cutout in the front panel.

The plastic standoff spacers that hold the display might also be different.

I would use the correct part.
