Calcium hardness: Which results are correct?

Just a helpful tip...if you get a salt test kit with Silver Nitrate, some Latex or similar gloves are a worthwhile investment. The stuff stains like carzy and it stays. Great test, but just FYI.

Guess I have gotten lucky as I have never gotten any on me ;)

I have finally corrected my CH level but apparently this had been a problem (before me) and caused scaling /deposits on tiles above the water line - several have even fallen off - are there any suggestions on cleaning this off tiles ... I imagine it will be a fun job...

A pumice stone, elbow grease, and Motrin will remove water line scale. It sounds awful, fingernails on a chalkboard but worse, but it works and it doesn't seem to affect the tile surface at all. Your knees and shoulders will be affected, though.
