Hello,

I’m having a dilemma and I don’t know what causes the behavior that I see.

My CH was 250. I added Hardness Plus from Leslie’s- which on the label says it’s 94-97% Calcium Chloride. I added about 7lbs and the CH was raised to 300.

My issue is that the ORP was increased form 650 to 770 - based on a the document that I found, see link below, I could find that CH increase should not affect the ORP.

Anybody has any idea what causes the ORP to jump that high?

Let's give your post a bump.

Not many members use ORP as it is very difficult to consistently get it to work in outdoor pools that use the proper level of CYA to make the chlorine use efficient.
