Calcium buildup?

Recently noticed that all of a sudden my chlorine levels from the SWG have needed to be supplemented by liquid chlorine frequently. I get the FC level to where I want it and have the SWG running at an even higher rate but the FC level still falls requiring more liquid chlorine. I had posted earlier about some white powdery stuff that our robot picks up every time it runs and determined that was calcium. No idea how we would have all these calcium flakes continuing to appear. Opened the SWG and it did have some buildup on it but not sure this would be enough to affect the performance? I went ahead and cleaned it with a diluted acid mixture since I couldn’t get the buildup off by just spraying water. Will see if chlorine levels return to being maintained by the SWG only. Anything I can do to prevent this buildup from occurring? CH level was 325 which seems to be in the normal range.

Forgot to mention just started using SWG this year about 3 months ago now (new pool end of season 2021 - didn’t add salt to water until May 2022)

Increase your cya. That amount of buildup shouldn’t be an issue at all. I am running my swg on the lowest setting and am likely gonna need to turn it off for 8 hours a day or so cause I’m running at 10 with it running 24/7 with a cya of 75.
