Calcium build up on the salt cell

What could be causing this crazy calcium build-up on my salt cell? This cell is 3 months old. Just did the test today and calcium is at 425. It consistently tests 425-450 range. I don't observe calcium anywhere else in the pool

Z,

I suspect that your CSI is positive... We suggest that you keep your CSI value on the negative side..

Do you use Pool Math? If so, it will calculate your CSI for you.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Just cleaned my IC40 after three months. Could not see anything on any interior parts. I did pour some very diluted muriatic acid in (31.5% diluted about 1:4 with soft water) and saw just a very few tiny bubbles. My CH has been in the 250-275 range; TA at 80 or so; pH 7.6 7.8; CSI generally very slightly negative.

I agree, and yet it does. Like I mentioned in the original message I see no calcium build up anywhere in the pool, not on the tile, not in any corners.

My TA stays very consistent in 425-475 range. pH is auto regulated by the system and is usually in 7.6-7.8 range. Sometimes it might get to 7.5 or to 8

This was a brand new cell that I put in early June.

Are you testing your pH or using what your controller says?

With evaporation and your fill water, your CH will always be rising. Unless you use soft water for fill water.
