Cal Hypo vs Liquid Bleach in Vinyl Pool

Howdy,

I have a box of cal hypo that i’d like to use up before buying more bleach. Any issues for vinyl liner pools?

If it is true that I don’t need to worry about CH in a vinyl pool, any problem switching to cal hypo if I can find it cheaper than bleach?

21000 gallon in ground vinyl liner pool. Taylor K2006 test kit. Sand filter.

No issues until your CH reaches 350 ppm. What is your current CH?

Yeah, leave the Cal Hypo alone.....you neither need it or want it.

Liquid chlorine is the BEST possible sanitizer for your pool.

Checked it tonight. CH 60.

I say use it but don't buy any more. It's easier to dissolve it into the pool than dispose of it as hazardous waste. Do be aware that low calcium is no problem for vinyl, but high Calcium can still cause scale. That's why I say don;t buy any more.
