The power cord inside the intellichlor has a burned connector on the red wire. I ordered a new replacement board and a new power cord. Going to check all of the voltages of course and am praying it’s not the cell itself. Appreciate it if anyone has advice here.

Board was 10-12 years old.

Pics of the damage attached.

Cell is just 1 year old. Fuse was tripped as well, when I opened it but would stay on when reset.

Thanks in advance @Jimrahbe

Cousrey,

Sounds like a plan... :goodjob:

What basically happens when the connection between the cable and the card is poor, or dirty, it causes a little voltage drop.. This in turn causes a little heat. The heat causes the resistance to go up, causing more heat.. It just keeps getting worse and worse over time until it finally just burns up..

I doubt the cell had anything to do with it.. I suspect it will work just fine after your replace the Surge card and cable..

It would be worth making sure the cable from the cell looks clean with no corrosion where it plugs into the EasyTouch..

Thanks,

Jim R.
