The water temp sensor for my heat pump has failed and I need the heater to work this weekend. Can I bridge the sensor wires to trick the heat pump into working? Does anyone see that causing problems with the electrics (shorts etc)?

Thanks

Shorting the temp sensor will not work.

Substituting a 10K resistor should have the water temperature read 77F.

You need to pick a resistance that sets a water temperature less then the water temperature you desire.

Then you need to monitor the water temperature somehow and manually turn it off when the pool is at the desired temperature.
