Buy TF100 now or wait until next pool season?

Mine has never smelled. Did anything leak?
Nothing leaked thankfully but I am going to find some silica gels and put this kit somewhere in the basement. Would it make sense to put it inside a cooler with some silica gels so it stays cool and dry? Or tie it up into a garbage bag until next year? I can still smell it and the odor is pretty strong.

I probably won’t test again until next year. Or perhaps use the OTO test for another week or so until I close the pool.

The R0870 powder must be kept dry. Placing that container in a plastic bag with silica gels would be wise. The rest is not really effected by humidity, just very low or very high temperatures. A basement is a good storage place.

I put my powder container in a sandwhich zip lock with 2 small silica packs. Once 'burped' the bag doesn't take up any extra space.

This is a great idea, thank you! I also see you are in NY also. Is waiting until October wise or should I close it sooner? I do have a heater but the weather won't be good enough for the next couple weeks.

October is perfect. It's still to warm here for a couple weeks. This weekend it's going to cool down and then there is always one last hurrah in the 80s.

Now, I'm back with another issue (hopefully easy). I decided to vacuum the debris from the bottom of the pool and give it a good brush around the sides. As I was vacuuming I've noticed the water becoming cloudy. There was a great amount of dirt on the bottom and it might've been stirred up in the water before it was sucked up but it's made the water really dull and cloudy.

I have a Hayward cartridge filter and just last week on Saturday I took it out, gave it a good bath with Clorox and rinsed it off with water and made sure it get in-between every corner. I then reinstalled the filter and it seemed to be fine. The filter is perhaps only 2 years old.

Is the vacuum sucking the dirt from the bottom and then reintroducing the dirt back into the pool? I have a closed system.- It goes from the skimmer to the pump, to the heater, to the Frog System (which is empty) and then back into the return. I don't have the option of backwashing or having the water go to the waste neither. Any ideas?

In the previous photo from today, the water was crystal clear and now it looks like a cloudy lake.

Thank you all for the help. Its been two days, the pumps have been running for 8-10 hours daily since Wednesday and the water still doesn't have that spark or that clarity that I'm used to? I am attaching some photos here again. Yesterday I added 8oz of Pool Essentials LC (10%, the date is from 2nd of August) and today added another 4oz due to high winds and the rain we had yesterday( I did not measure the FC or CC levels yet).

The water is still cloudy (to my naked eye, pictures don't do justice). I brushed the bottom of the pool, I had some green/dark fine material mix in with the water (either dirt from yesterdays storm or algae?). The stairs have some greenish yellow tint to them. If I use my hand to brush it off, it comes right off. I circled a couple of things in the photos.

The water is definitely a lot clearer than it was on Wednesday after vacuuming but it is still lacking that spark or reflection from the sun.

There isn't any run off into the pool, but because I have a deck around the pool, I do have a lot of leaves and dirt and debris flying into it but I don't think it should be that big of an issue since the pump is on majority of the day.

Run your pump 24/7 until the water clears. and brush and vac at least once daily. If you want the pool to sparkle, you must take more aggressive efforts to get the dirt out. When did you last test?

I last tested on Wednesday when I first received the kit. I just did the OTO test and it’s well above the 5PPM FC and now the PH is within the 7.8ish range.

Is there a need to get to to be 100% clear if I will be closing within the next two weeks? The weather isn’t getting any better now.
