Clueless 16 year old son burned popcorn in the microwave last night and with every fan running and lemon juice in a cup of water boiling in the microwave that smell is still strong in the house 12 hours later. Who has a hack to get the smell out? The boy is in deep sheet with the Mrs as she isn't pleased with this brain dead maneuver. I fortunately was out of the immediate blast vicinity in the basement getting the movie going. Any ideas to get that out of the house?

I'm not sure how to do it in bulk if it's covering the whole house, but an extinguished candle or blown out match have a significant affect on an area's olfactory impacts.

Odoban works wonders!
You can even clean the microwave with it.
It’s like febreeze but also a cleaner/ disinfectant.
We have a huge attic/ whole house fan which comes in super handy for mishaps like that, open the windows & crank it up!

I opened all the windows but the clan, other than me, have allergies so not a great time to do it. Thank the creator I don't have allergies because watching them sniffle, itch nose, etc is unreal. I always tease them back in the caveman days, nature would have weeded them out or the fellow cave dwellers would have took care of them after they spoiled a few hunts with ill timed sneezes or noise. HA!!

Just picked up some febreze candles to get them going.

Maybe try wiping down some surfaces with vinegar? It can help diffuse the smell. Unless they are also opposed to vinegar smell.

Box of Baking soda works too esp in an enclosed space

You can also stick fan in window blowing out (I’m assuming no kitchen vent to outside?) in one area of house with window open in a different area to create a draft
