Obviously had a liner tear. 2 tears both on wall. 1 about 3.5" high and other about 2'. top one fixed easy. bottom one spans the wall ribs which makes patch tricky. right now I'm not happy with the lower patch. But it's no longer losing water. Going to fill to my closing level and close it up if it holds . Issue is the deep end allows the ground to slide down the outside of the wall and under the liner. I know a new liner is in order. But how to I prevent the walls from collapsing since it's buried? Obviously need to drain, redo coping, replace liner, and backfill side wall. If it wont hold water and I can get her patched how to I preventer the walls collapsing. In the frozen north and frost heave scares me too. Torn about keeping. We no longer use it much. But love it when all the kids and grandkids pop by for a swim. other hand defiantly some cost savings (new 1 hp pump last year). Liner replacement with labor will probably cost a little more than the fill dirt would to fill it in. Open to ideas on saving the pool. or thoughts on filling it in.
