Hi all, long time TFP user and learned all I need to know here about keeping my pools crystal clear.
After 7 years of AG pool, we are building a DIY 20x36 vinyl starting now.
I've seen a handful of posts here about people that have done this and lived to tell about it, but would appreciate any and all thoughts from others.
The recurring comment I've seen is "hire an excavator". I have a neighbor with a skid-steer (he's a pro), so I plan to have him dig my shallow end shelf.
I'll probably ask him for recommendations on the backhoe deep-end as well.

We are doing a 20x36, 48" steel wall vinyl pool from pool warehouse. SWG and sand filter.
Wish us luck and say a prayer ;)
I'll try to add some photos along the way if it's interesting.

Of course photos are of interest!!! We're currently filling our "DIY". Yes, we subbed out excavation, electrical, decking and the pool bottom finish. This forum was a great resource.

Very best of luck!!!

Oh, it'll for sure be interesting, no doubt about it;) Can't wait to see the progress!

Good luck, hope it all goes smoothly and quickly!
