Bug swimmg in my pool

found a bug swimming in my pool?
amphibious insects?

should I expect to find these strange swimming insects?
will super chlorination kill them?
only saw one last month threw it out.
just threw out another.

I get them occasionally. But not a swarm so I just chunk em.

The two most common water bugs are Water Boatmen, Corixidae - Wikipedia, or Backswimmer, Notonectidae - Wikipedia.

If they are Water Boatmen, they feed on algae, so they can be a sign you need to run a Overnight Chlorine Loss Test to check for algae in your water.
