Bubbles

I have a two speed pump with 3 returns. When my pump is in low mode, all 3 returns are working, but shooting out a lot of bubbles. Sometimes, when I’m home to observe, no water comes out of the shallow end return. However, when the pump is in high, all 3 returns shoot out water as they always have. My water level is good, there are no leaks in my exterior pvc pipes, and even I’ve replaced the air control valve that sits above my filter housing. Somewhere air is getting in but I cannot find where.

Your signature shows you have a SWCG. Turn it off and see if the bubbles go away.

So leave the pump running, just unplug the salt generator?

At what point with the SWCG off, time wise, should I see a difference?

Once the lines clear. Should be a few minutes.
The SWCG should be cycling on and off some based on what % generation you have. Are the bubbles intermittent?

The return closest to the pump has no bubbles. The return in the shallow barely has water coming out (few bubbles), but the return furthest away from the pump has bubbles constantly coming out.

If not hydrogen from the SWCG, then air comes from the suction side. Check the pump basket lid gasket and use Pool Lube, check pump drain plug O rings, valves on suction side, etc.

Wow! After what….30 minutes. No more bubbles. Not even from the return furthest away. I’m going to keep my SWCG off for the rest the day and give the generator a wash. But I’m still going to replace the O rings on the filter and plug. I’ve my pool for about 5 years now.
